Operation Codename “Chow Chow” : 2nd Chapter

Holy Hustler release

After 2 and 1/2 weeks of searching, participating in forums, private messaging, and sending out countless emails finally my luck turned. A Chow Chow breeder informed me of an available puppy! The surprise is that the contact wasn’t from the effort spent for the past weeks but it was my first few initial contacts which came back to me. So that show just how important it is to make that 1st step and not to give up but equally important is making a good first impression and showing your sincerity, people will tend to remember you!

, is from the same kennel. After a few round of emails I’ve decided to pay the kennel a visit this Saturday, was informed that it would take roughly 1-2 hours on the road from my place in Makati to reach, depending on the traffic. Hopefully it’s worth the journey and I’m dying to meet the pup!

It won’t be easy bringing the puppy out of Philippines and into Vietnam. It will take quite a bit of preparation, below are some of the things which I may/have to do:
1. Making sure the puppy is at least 3 months old (minimum requirement for vaccinations)
2. Making sure the puppy’s vaccinations is up to date and received rabies shot (will need to wait at least 1 month before blood test after the shot)
3. Puppy should be 4 months old by now and will need to bring to a recognized Vet for blood test (getting papers to show the pup is vaccinated and received rabies shot)
4. After that I THINK I need to get approval from an animal department to bring the pup out of Philippines (not quite sure)
5. Need to inform PAL (Philippines Airlines) at least 2 days in advance
6. On the departure date I will have to bring the pup to a special terminal to check her in, to be safe a few hours in advance in case of complication arises
7. Vietnam……

Chow Chow

I’m stuck at this moment with Vietnam side, I’m pretty sure I need an entry permit for the pup. Will have to do more research once I’m back in Vietnam next week 20th/21st March. If everything goes according to plan the pup SHOULD BE with me by the end of April or early June. By the way, the adorable Chow Chow puppy in this page is her!

wow, so admirable! You must be a great dog lover! Does it take a lot of effort to raise a Chow? I live in Hanoi and I’m thinking of raising a Chow…

For a Chow I think it takes quite an effort! However if you’re a dog/Chow lover then it should not be an issue.

They tend to shed quite often and you need to brush them every day or their fur will be tangled. Training is required so they are well behaved when they grow up. They are very protective of their family and extremely loyal.

I’m quite picky when it comes to raising my Chows and I believe every dog owners should be very discipline when taking care of their dog. Things like never fed them off the table, no begging of food, etc. But that’s just me lol
