Operation Codename “Chow Chow” : Good Morning, Vietnam

Bear Bear the Chow Chow at 4 months old

** Updated on 3rd May
4 and a half day more before Bear Bear the furry Chow Chow is relocated from Philippines to Vietnam. Almost all her papers are ready, all that’s left is the transfer of ownership name which should be done by this Wednesday. I’ll be picking her up on Thursday and both of us will be boarding a flight the next morning to Vietnam. Keeping my fingers crossed hoping there’s no major obstacle during departure (PH) and arrival (VN).

May 1st
3:20pm - Picked her up and packed her things, took a few photos along the way and headed straight back to my apartment.
8pm - She peed on my bed! Was trying to show her to my wife using my notebook’s web cam.
11pm till 8am - Throughout the night she woke me up a few times by barking at unfamiliar sounds!

May 2nd
10am till 12pm - Checked her in at the airport. Her transportation fee was charged as overweight baggage, so that’s US$6.47 per kg. Paid US$123 for her and her kennel’s combined weight. A word of advice, as long as you have all the papers ready then just get a baggage handler at the airport and he/she will guide you through your pet’s check-in procedures. Once that’s done give the handler a tip for their help.

3pm - Touched down in Vietnam! Picked her up from the belt area and headed to the exit with no hassle! custom officers didn’t even bother to check her because apparently she poo-ed in her kennel so the smell was a bit overwhelming!

3:30pm - Reached home and gave her a good shower. She’s a happy puppy now!
